Where do sessions take place?

Session locations vary from family to family. Popular choices include local parks, Micanopy, downtown Alachua or High Springs, one of many open fields in the area, or in the comfort of your own home. Most sessions last anywhere from 1 to 2 hours.

-Florida’s weather can be unpredictable and I shoot using mostly Florida’s beautiful natural light. Please allow for a somewhat flexible time frame on the day of your shoot to ensure that you have the best lighting possible for your session.

What does my session fee cover?
The session fee includes my time and talent and is non-refundable. This also includes an in-person ordering consultation following your session. The session may take place in several locations and includes up to 4 people ($30 charge for each additional person). The client can expect to be shown 30 to 50 images from their session.

When can I view my pictures?
Your images will be available in a private in-person ordering gallery within 3-4 weeks of your session. During the ordering appointment, I will be happy to assist you with any ordering choices.

Professional portraits are a wonderful investment for your family which will grace your home for years. I want to guarantee that you are pleased with your purchases. I take great care in giving my clients individualized and personal attention.

Elise Kersey Photography accepts cash and checks. Payment via Paypal may be arranged for session fee payment. In-person orders must be paid during the ordering session.

When will my order be ready?
Most orders are available within 2-6 weeks after you place your order.

What if I need more time to order?
If you are unable to make your order decisions at your ordering consultation, I will be glad to schedule an additional ordering consultation for $50 per meeting.  All ordered images will be saved in our archiving system. All unordered images will be purged a month after the session.

What should we wear for our session?
Comfort is key. You will want to dress in simple clothing. If you would like a more traditional and timeless feel to your images, white and/or beige paired with denim work well. If you prefer a more contemporary feel with your pictures, bright boutique-type clothing is fun. While having matching outfits is never a good idea, coordinating is important. You will want family members to wear similarly toned clothing. Avoid bold patterns and logos. I highly recommend you bring one or two outfit changes for the shoot, especially if you prefer both contemporary and timeless images.

Please dress to compliment your surroundings. While fun and funky boutique style clothing is wonderful for a downtown or park session, it may not photograph well in a field setting.

Newborns are best photographed in their birthday suit.

When should my newborn or maternity session be scheduled?
Newborns should be photographed within their first 10 days of life. Please plan your session accordingly.

Maternity sessions typically are best completed early in the 8th month of pregnancy. However, I always recommend that a mother-to-be schedule her session when she feels best about her belly and is showing enough for photos. This may vary from mommy to mommy.

What if my session is rained out?
We cannot control the weather. Every effort will be made to reschedule your session for a time that is convenient to your family with no additional charges.

Do you offer retouching services?
Absolutely! Cuts, scraped knees, and bruises are easily taken care of. This is a complimentary service which is done at no extra cost to my clients.
